These statement earrings include sterling silver, hand-dyed yarn, and Ukrainian amber. They had to be carefully planned ahead to accommodate the different elements in the right way.
The yarn is hand-dyed in Brooklyn by my cousin of Isabelle Fiber Co. The amber is from the Ukraine and was brought back by my mom many, many years ago. I've been holding onto it for a long time waiting for the right project. It happens that way sometimes, when it comes to hoarding materials.
The sterling silver frames and vines were carefully constructed to incorporate all the elements with the correct balance. Big but not heavy!
